A Second Moon

Mary switched on the television and was watching the news when suddenly the reporter said, “We have breaking news: on the 10th of October, Earth will gain a temporary second moon, and it will remain there for five days until the 15th of October.” Mary was shocked by the announcement and wanted to verify its authenticity. She decided to surf the internet and discovered that all her friends had sent her the same news, and it was confirmed by NASA. Excitement filled her, as the news had spread far beyond the city—even into the jungle. It was traveling as fast as light.
The news reached a priest living in a remote church deep in the jungle. He was terrified, sweating profusely, and suddenly began to experience panic attacks. Without warning, he lost consciousness and collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment. When he regained consciousness, the doctors asked why he had reacted so strongly to the news. The priest refused to answer and wanted to leave immediately, but the doctors insisted he complete his medication and checkups first. After two days, he was discharged.

Back at the church, the priest became withdrawn. His behavior changed dramatically, and he stopped responding to anyone. One night, as he sat in deep thought, he wondered to himself, “Should I tell people what will happen if there are two moons, or should I remain silent?”

The next day, while walking to his master’s house, the priest decided to pick up some sweets as a gesture of goodwill. Upon arriving, he knocked on the door several times, but there was no answer. Growing concerned, he knocked harder and realized the door was slightly ajar. He cautiously stepped inside. As he stood in the room, he noticed blood seeping out from behind the sofa.

Gunshot.

The sweets fell from his hands and scattered across the floor.
